Types of Seizures in Adults
For this article the question of how can Internet marketing help people with epilepsy is going to pertain strictly to adults. I’m sure if you are reading this you are familiar with the types of seizures we adults with epilepsy may have.
The 2 Main categories: Grand Mal and Petit Mal and then from there are 26 known/named seizures that a person can have and probably 26 or more types doctors and researchers have no idea what they are. I don’t want to sound negative towards doctors and researchers. They work hard and I know they all have good hearts. And most of them admit that there are times when they don’t have a clue of what is causing our seizures. But it is frustrating when they cannot give us an answer and I know it is frustrating to them when they cannot give us and answer.

Causes of Seizures in Adults
Unfortunately, 1/3 of all epilepsies are Idiopathic generalized epilepsies (IGEs). They are genetically determined and affect otherwise normal people of both sexes and all races and all ages.
Studies show as patients grow older it becomes easier to determine where seizures originate from.
My seizure journey started when I started football in elementary school. I was a starting center, I took many head on collisions, from the 4th grade until the 10th grade. I had my first Grand Mal seizure at 16. My final game of my 10th grade year I took a severe blow to the head in a game that knocked me out cold. This was in 1976. In today’s world, they would have stopped the game, taken me out of the game, and put me into concussion protocol. HOWEVER, my father was a football player from the 1950’s so you did not “sit out” you shook it off and went back in and played so I went back in and was knocked out again – ”And here we are”!
Stress and Lack of Sleep Causes Seizures
Over the past 40 years I have always tracked and or documented the number of seizures I was/am having and the catalysts that were causing them. At times it may be as simple as a check with a circle around it. Then there were times I was part of a medical study where I was testing the efficacy of a new medication, or trying out a new medical device and I had to write down everything from what I ate to what I was feeling, daydreaming about, etc, etc… At one point I was so into tracking what I was eating when I went out with a group of friends for lunch and we sat down to eat I started analyzing my food’s nutritional content one of my friends said, “McElroy can’t you just eat!!”. I was so was becoming focused on my effort to find a solution to end my seizures I was alienating those around me.
During those 40 years of tracking my seizures I was able to talk to and read about hundreds of other people’s experiences trying to find out what caused their seizures. In all their stories there was one constant in almost all of them. Stress and lack of sleep seemed to always be intertwined however when you combined both stress and lack of sleep it was with almost 100% certainty that it was a seizure catalyst.
So if you look at the world population as a whole – what is one of the main causes of stress and lack of sleep – lack of money. This goes back to the title of my article.
How can Internet Marketing Help People with Epilepsy

The job market is becoming more competitive and cut throat every day and if you have epilepsy, have to take medicine to control it, and still have active seizures you need to find a way to earn an income that does not require you drive or follow somebody else’s schedule. Heck, even if you can drive and can follow somebody else’s schedule knowing the Internet and having a way to generate a second and 3rd income is imperative in the world as we know it.
I have a blog and I’m developing this blog because I want to show others with epilepsy that they too can develop one even if they’re not writers, like me, and learn how to monetize that blog and generate an income. When I say monetize I don’t mean be fake and try to trick people to buy stuff off your blog I mean to be real, to be who you are, to have people read your stories, and read what you have to offer and then buy from you just like if you had a storefront in a mall.
To Your Success
Epilepsy is what you have, not what you are. You are not an epileptic. You are a person with Epilepsy. Epilepsy is a part of your life. It is not your whole life. You are not different from other people in any major way except for the brief time you’re having a seizure. Other people may expect that having epilepsy makes you different but that’s their mistake. Given the chance you can probably live, work and function in the world just as well as anyone else.
